It took most of the winter for the Evening Grosbeaks to arrive in our yard in Island Pond, VT this winter.
I spent most of today doing bird photography, and it paid off! I was happy to make two Northern Cardinal Photographs, and one of a Mourning Dove. The falling snow really added a lot to all three of these photographs.
The Northern Cardinal has been visiting the feeders daily since he first showed up back in November. I’ve seen the female in the area but never at the feeders.
We’re still waiting on snow here in central NH. Hopefully it starts to fall soon so I can get out there and make some photographs of the NH winter. Until them I’ll continue to work on my bird photography. Here’s a shot of a male Hairy Woodpecker in the late afternoon light.
Without any snow, stick season here in NH has curbed my desire to get out there and photograph landscapes. So, I’ve been concentrating on my bird photography. There have been a lot of goldfinch around over the past few weeks. Here’s a photo of one from yesterday.
